The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of noise distraction on test scores. It was hypothesized that a noise

distraction, such as a Spanish tape, played during testing would negatively influence test scores. Thus, scores would be lower

under the noise conditions of a within-subjects design. Despite the use of a counterbalance design, results of a one-way

repeated measures ANOVA indicated that there was no difference between testing either under noise or under quiet

conditions. However, there seems to be an enhancement by looking at the means across all four conditions.
